Most fans are friendly. A few test how far they can go. In a study of 43 OnlyFans creators, 19 reported fans who test boundaries and 26 reported harassment or toxic messages 1. This article gives you lines you can copy and a structure so you do not have to start from scratch every time.
How do I block someone on OnlyFans, and what happens then?
You block a fan through the three-dot menu, either in the chat, on their profile or in your subscriber list 8. According to a German guide from December 2025, the person can then no longer open your profile, earlier messages are hidden and any running subscription is stopped. The fan is not notified directly 8.
There are milder options. The same guide describes muting: you stop receiving messages from the person, but they stay a subscriber 8. That is enough when someone is annoying but not dangerous. When there are threats, muting is not enough.
Before you block, save the evidence, because messages are hidden afterwards:
- screenshots with date, time and username
- the link to the fan's profile
- a short note on what happened before
Keep all of it in a safe place, separate from your phone in case you lose it. What a clean evidence log looks like is described in the leak emergency plan.
Why do some fans feel entitled to cross boundaries?
Because for many fans the relationship feels personal, even though it is not. Media scholar Lisa Andergassen (University of Bayreuth) describes the relationship between fan and creator as one-sided, yet one that feels intimate to fans 2. Fans pay for direct communication, and some derive entitlements from that: to replies around the clock, to meetings, to content you do not offer.
Money adds to it. Several reports describe how boundaries slip under financial pressure. One creator told ZDFheute, a German public news outlet, that she never wanted to make porn, and then the requests for personalized videos came 3. A former creator told Insider that when the offers were high, she sent things she did not want to send 4. That is not a personal failure. It is a predictable pattern, and that is exactly why a list you set in advance helps.
How do I set my boundaries on OnlyFans?
You write them down, calmly, and not in the moment of a request. A boundary you only work out in a chat with a fan who is ready to pay is one you negotiate from the weaker position. The same goes for boundaries you want to loosen later: you can do that whenever you like, but deliberately and at a distance from a specific request.
The list below has four columns:
- Yes: I offer this.
- Only with conditions: for example only paid up front, only with a watermark, only for fans who have been around for a while, only without my face.
- No: I do not do this, at any price.
- Who needs to know: you alone, your agency, the chat team, a partner if you make content together.
Set a fixed date to review the list, for example every three months. Then it changes because you want it to, not because someone is pushing.
Your boundaries list to fill in
Copy the table, fill it in and share the relevant parts with everyone who writes in your name.
| Area | Yes | Only with conditions | No | Who needs to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Face in the picture | – | – | – | – |
| Tattoos, birthmarks, jewelry, voice | – | – | – | – |
| Apartment, windows, furniture, reflections | – | – | – | – |
| Other people in the picture | – | – | – | – |
| Levels of clothing and nudity | – | – | – | – |
| Specific themes, role play, fetishes | – | – | – | – |
| Custom content (photos, videos, audio) | – | – | – | – |
| Video calls, livestreams | – | – | – | – |
| Fans' names in content, dedications | – | – | – | – |
| Voice messages | – | – | – | – |
| Talking about your private life (where you live, job, family) | – | – | – | – |
| Relationship roles ("girlfriend", "girlfriend experience") | – | – | – | – |
| Meeting in real life | – | – | – | No recommended |
| Contact outside OnlyFans (phone number, messenger apps) | – | – | – | – |
| Response times (when you are reachable, when not) | – | – | – | – |
| Discounts, free previews | – | – | – | – |
| What the chat team may agree to without asking | – | – | – | Agency, chatters |
| What the chat team must never agree to | – | – | – | Agency, chatters |
Two rows are not a matter of taste. Content or role play that suggests someone is underage is prohibited under OnlyFans' rules and always belongs under "No". And meeting fans is a safety risk. According to hessenschau, the Berlin creator Yma Nowak quit partly because fans believed in a real relationship and wanted to meet her 2.
What do I write when a fan goes too far?
Reply briefly, kindly and without a reason that can be argued with. The more you explain, the more you give them to push against. The scripts follow three steps:
- Remind: friendly, with an offer of what is possible instead.
- Refuse: clear, no offer, with a note on the consequence.
- End it: block, without announcing it.
With threats, blackmail or insults, go straight to step three. Adjust the lines to your own voice. They should sound like you, not like a form.
The fan wants to meet you
- Step 1: "That's sweet of you, but I don't meet fans. I'm happy to be here for you, though."
- Step 2: "I've already told you I don't meet anyone. If you keep asking, I'll end our chat."
The fan asks for your real name, where you live or your job
- Step 1: "My private life stays private. Ask me anything else."
- Step 2: "I don't answer questions about my real life. That's not up for discussion."
Do not drop hints in passing either, such as the weather in your city or a local event. More in Privacy on OnlyFans.
The fan wants something you do not offer
- Step 1: "That's not something I do. Have a look at what I do offer, maybe there's something you'll like."
- Step 2: "The answer is still no, even for more money. Please don't ask again."
"Even for more money" matters. It takes away the hope that the price can move your boundary.
The fan haggles or wants content for free
- Step 1: "My prices are fixed. Totally fine if it doesn't work for you right now."
- Step 2: "I don't negotiate prices. It's your call whether you buy."
How to set your prices is covered in OnlyFans pricing.
The fan guilt-trips you
Typical lines are "I've already spent so much on you" or "I thought I meant something to you".
- Step 1: "Thank you for being here. For what you've bought, you get the content. That's all I can promise."
- Step 2: "I won't be pressured. If this doesn't work for you any more, you can cancel your subscription at any time."
The fan believes in a real relationship
- Step 1: "I really enjoy our chats. At the same time, this is my work, and I want to be honest with you: there's no relationship outside OnlyFans."
- Step 2: "I can tell this means more to you than I can give. That's not good for either of us. I'm ending our chat."
Honesty at this point protects you and the fan. Someone who believes he is in a relationship often spends more than is good for him. Exploiting that is not a boundary, it is manipulation.
The fan insults you or sends sexual messages without consent
No reply. Save the evidence, block, report.
The fan threatens you
For example: "I know who you are", "I'll send this to your family", or a threat that includes real details. No reply, no money. Save the evidence, block, report and get help. How to handle blackmail is explained in Blackmail on Instagram and Stalking and doxxing.
The fan writes that he is in a very bad place
Sometimes fans hint that they might hurt themselves. You are not a therapist and you do not have to be one. One possible line: "That sounds really serious. Please reach out to a crisis line, or call emergency services if you're in danger. There are people there for you." Then point to a crisis line. In the German-speaking countries:
| Where | Crisis line |
|---|---|
| Germany | TelefonSeelsorge, free and 24/7: 0800 111 0 111 and 0800 111 0 222; emergency 112 5 |
| Austria | TelefonSeelsorge: 142 6 |
| Switzerland | Die Dargebotene Hand: 143 7 |
When do I report a fan to OnlyFans or to the police?
Report a fan to OnlyFans as soon as they break the rules, for example with threats, harassment or content involving minors. Go to the police if you are being threatened, blackmailed or stalked. Reporting to the platform does not replace a police report, and a police report does not replace reporting to the platform.
OnlyFans has a reporting function for users and content. In the USENIX study, many respondents said they had little trust in the platform's reporting tools 1. Report anyway: it documents the incident with OnlyFans, and that can help later.
If you feel in immediate danger, call the emergency number: 112 across Europe, and in Germany also 110 for the police. Support services differ by country:
| Where | Support with online harassment |
|---|---|
| Germany | HateAid offers free counseling, by phone at 030 252 088 38 or via a contact form 9 |
| Austria | #GegenHassimNetz, run by the association ZARA, offers free and confidential counseling at +43 1 929 13 99 or beratung@zara.or.at 10 |
| Switzerland | The association Netzcourage ended its counseling service in 2026. The Swiss magazine Beobachter has compiled the remaining places to turn to 11 |
How should a chat team work with your boundaries?
A chat team carries out your boundaries; it does not negotiate them. That is the most important sentence in any collaboration. If an agency or chatters write in your name, they have to know your list before the first conversation. That includes what they may never agree to, for example a meeting, custom content outside your list or a discount you have not approved.
Media reports describe the opposite: agencies pushing creators towards ever more extreme content 2. A serious agency asks about your boundaries, writes them down and passes requests that go beyond them on to you instead of answering them itself. How to tell the difference is covered in Who is writing to your fans? and OnlyFans agency red flags.
Three rules to agree with every chat team:
- New requests outside the list go to you, not back to the fan with a "maybe".
- No made-up promises. No "I'll definitely meet you sometime", no fake declarations of love, no invented emergencies to get money.
- You can read along at any time, and incidents such as threats are reported to you.

All answers as a list
Will I lose money if I set boundaries?
With some fans, maybe. But you will not lose yourself. Fans who only stay as long as they can push your boundaries cost you more energy in the long run than they bring in. How to sell without pressure is covered in Welcome messages and message templates.
Do I have to explain why I do not do something?
No. "I don't do that" is a complete sentence. Reasons invite negotiation.
Does a fan know that I blocked them?
According to one guide, they are not notified directly, but they can no longer see your profile 8. So many notice it indirectly.
Can I change my boundaries later?
Yes, at any time and in either direction. Decide calmly and at a distance from a specific request. Then share the new version with everyone who writes for you.
What do I do if a fan comes back with a new account?
Block, save the evidence and report to OnlyFans that it is the same person. If it turns into a pattern, a support service can help, and you can file a police report.
If you want support
Setting boundaries is easier when someone has your back and helps you hold them day to day. maevia works with English-speaking creators who live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland and write native-level English, and our team chats only within the boundaries you set, as real people, never as bots.
