"How do I get my money from OnlyFans?" is one of the first questions new creators ask, right after verification. The answers online contradict each other: sometimes €20, sometimes $20, sometimes "monthly", sometimes "any time". Here we separate what is documented from what is not.
A note up front: the OnlyFans help center could not be accessed automatically for our research 3. OnlyFans sets the minimum amount, the waiting period and the payout methods, and it can change them. Anything we could not verify is marked as such.
How does OnlyFans pay you?
What fans pay lands in your account as a balance after the 20% platform fee is taken off 12. From there you request a payout to your bank account. According to vendor guides, this happens in three stages 45:
- Pending: a new payment is held at first. This lets OnlyFans catch fraud and chargebacks.
- Available: after the waiting period, you can withdraw the amount.
- Paid out: the money is on its way to your bank.
According to these sources, you can withdraw either manually, whenever you want, or automatically on a fixed schedule 4. So the claim "OnlyFans pays out once a month" is too sweeping, at the very least.
Before your first payout is possible, you need a completed verification, saved bank details and the tax details OnlyFans asks for.
Which bank account do you need for OnlyFans payouts?
An account in your own name, specifically the same name as in your verification. According to agency guides, OnlyFans checks the bank details before the first payout is possible 5. If the account holder does not match the verified name, that is a typical reason for delays.
What to keep in mind:
- Only your own account. Not your partner's, not your parents', and certainly not an agency's. Whoever receives your money controls it. An agency that wants payouts redirected to its own account is a clear red flag; see How to spot a legit OnlyFans agency.
- A separate business account makes sense. It makes bookkeeping and your tax return much easier.
- Your bank may ask questions, for example about larger or unusual incoming payments. Some banks have reservations about income from adult content. There are no reliable figures on this for Germany, Austria or Switzerland, only reports from North America 8. We do not recommend specific banks.
Which payout methods are there? Guides mention bank transfers and, in some cases, payment services such as Paxum 45. We could not verify which methods OnlyFans currently offers for accounts in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, or whether payouts arrive as a SEPA transfer in euros or as an international transfer in dollars.
Can you get paid through PayPal? As far as we know, no. PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy rules out using PayPal for certain sexually oriented materials or services 7. Avoid offers that promise a "PayPal payout" through workarounds.
How long does OnlyFans take to pay out?
Including the waiting period and the transfer, usually several days to a little over a week. Vendor guides mention a hold of about seven days per payment, in some cases up to 21 days depending on the country or the age of the account 45. After that, the transfer itself takes a few more business days, depending on the method and your bank. We did not find an official figure.
For your planning, that means: money a fan pays today reaches your account in one to two weeks at the earliest. Do not count on earnings that are still pending, and do not plan your fixed costs down to the day.
If it takes longer, it is often for one of these reasons:
- Your verification or tax details are incomplete.
- Your bank details were changed and are being checked again.
- An international transfer is going through intermediary banks.
- A public holiday in the countries the payment passes through, or where you live, delays the booking.
Is there a minimum payout on OnlyFans?
Yes, but OnlyFans does not state it as a figure in its terms. They only say a minimum amount must be reached 2. Agency and vendor sites usually say $20, a few name other values 45. When some European guides write "€20", it is probably a conversion mistake: OnlyFans works in dollars.
Whether the minimum is different for accounts in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, for example because the transfer runs in euros or francs, is an open question. For Fansly, the minimums are publicly documented, for example $50 for a SEPA transfer 6. That shows the method can matter. A comparison of platforms is in OnlyFans alternatives.
What does currency conversion cost you?
More than many people think, because OnlyFans settles in US dollars and you carry the conversion and bank fees 2. How much it costs depends on your bank and the payout method. Many banks add a markup to the exchange rate, and there may be fees for international transfers on top.
Three things you can do:
- Compare your bank's terms for incoming dollar payments before you add the account to OnlyFans.
- Withdraw less often, in larger amounts, if your bank charges per transfer.
- Record the amount in euros or francs that actually lands in your account. You need it for your bookkeeping.
In Switzerland you convert to francs, so dollars to francs instead of dollars to euros. Which amounts and which exchange rate you need for your taxes is best clarified with a tax adviser in your country.
What is form W-8BEN?
The W-8BEN is a form from the US tax authority, the IRS, for people outside the US 9. According to agency information, OnlyFans asks for it or comparable tax details before the first payout 5. Why a UK company asks for a US form is not explained in the sources. A likely reason is that US payment providers are involved.
As a creator living in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, the W-8BEN is the form for you as a foreign individual 9. If you also hold US citizenship, ask a tax adviser which form applies.
Note: This section is not tax advice. Last checked: 13 October 2026.
What the W-8BEN typically asks for 9:
- your name and your country of citizenship,
- your home address,
- the tax ID of your country of residence (called a "foreign TIN" in the instructions),
- your date of birth,
- where relevant, details on the tax treaty.
How you fill in the form and what you have to register in your country of residence is best clarified with your tax office or a tax adviser. If you move or your name changes, update your details.
Why is my OnlyFans payout blocked?
Usually because of missing details, sometimes because of an account problem. The most common reasons:
- Verification or tax details incomplete. Check that all steps in your account are completed.
- Bank details do not match. The account holder and the verified name must be the same.
- Minimum not reached yet, or payments still in the waiting period.
- Chargebacks. If a fan has a payment reversed, OnlyFans deducts your share again 2. Your balance can go down as a result. More in OnlyFans chargebacks and scams.
- A review or suspension of your account. If there is a possible violation, OnlyFans can pause payments or withhold earnings 2. With the new terms from 1 November 2026, according to a media report, this is meant to be possible on suspicion alone 10. What to do then is in OnlyFans account recovery, and what changes is in New OnlyFans terms from 1 November 2026.
The last point leads to a simple rule: do not leave a large balance sitting on the platform. Whatever is available, you can withdraw.
What should you do with the money once it arrives?
Split it before you spend it. OnlyFans does not deduct tax for you.
- Reserve: a fixed share of every payout goes into a separate account. How much depends on your country and income. A system for this is described in The four-pot system.
- Records: download the payout and earnings statements from your account regularly, ideally monthly. How long you should keep them is best clarified with a tax adviser.
Where you live matters: tax pointers
Note: This section is not tax advice. Last checked: 13 October 2026.
OnlyFans does not deduct tax from your payout, whether you live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. You declare your income where you live:
| Where you live | Official starting point |
|---|---|
| Germany | your Finanzamt (tax office) or a tax adviser |
| Austria | your Finanzamt (tax office) or a tax adviser |
| Switzerland | your cantonal tax office or a tax adviser |
The details depend on your situation, so check them with a tax adviser in your country.

All answers as a list
Does OnlyFans pay out in euros or francs?
OnlyFans settles in US dollars 2. Whether the transfer reaches your account already converted or in dollars depends on the payout method. Either way, you carry the conversion costs.
Does OnlyFans take tax off my payout?
No. OnlyFans keeps its 20% platform fee, but it does not deduct tax for you. What you have to pay yourself is best clarified with your tax office or a tax adviser.
How often should I withdraw money?
That depends on your bank's fees. If every transfer costs something, a few larger payouts are cheaper. At the same time, you should not leave too much balance on the platform, because it can be frozen during an account review.
Can my agency manage my payouts for me?
It can help you keep track, but the money should go straight to your own account. Check in the contract where payouts go and who has access to your bank details.
What happens to my balance if I quit?
Before deleting your account, withdraw everything available and download your earnings statements. What else matters when you stop is in Quitting OnlyFans.
To sum up
Payouts are technically simple once your verification, bank details and tax details match. Plan for the waiting period, factor in the cost of currency conversion and treat every payout as if part of it already belongs to the tax office.
